Projects engineered by MLW
In collaboration with the University of Potsdam, an instrument system for identifying contaminated waste-heap substrate and oil residues in agricultural and urban areas, and an instrument system for the exploration and detection of rare earth elements under field conditions, have recently been developed.
Instrument system for the identification of contaminated waste-heap substrate and oil residues in agricultural and urban areas
Overview
The contamination spectrometer can be deployed both on the surface and at depths of up to 80 cm. It delivers fast, reliable and cost-effective insights into the spatial extent and degree of soil contamination.
Until now, this type of assessment has involved taking soil samples and conducting chemical analyses. This requires a high expenditure of financial and human resources.
